Hi, I’m Oniisanbomber! I started writing light novels in 2020, during the pandemic, when I couldn’t find the kind of stories I wanted to read, so I decided to write them myself. Since then, writing has become more than a pastime; it’s my passion and my profession. My style matured over that first year and has continued to grow ever since. Many of my best ideas come while walking, letting my mind wander until a story gently surfaces.
My love for writing actually began much earlier: back in high school at 16, when I created comics with one of my best friends. That was when I realized I wanted to be a professional writer, not just an amateur, and my passion for storytelling and creative projects has never stopped since then.
When it comes to reading, I enjoy slice-of-life, romance, fantasy, and Japanese literature most of all. These genres continue to inspire me as both a reader and a writer. Among the authors who have influenced me deeply are Lee Child, Banana Yoshimoto, and Jōgi Shiraishi; each of them has shaped the way I think about storytelling, characters, and atmosphere.
Outside of books, I’m a nostalgic person who enjoys a wide range of hobbies: walking, bouldering, playing board games, and collecting Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokémon cards, old maps, and figurines. These activities give me new perspectives, spark creativity, and connect me to the things I’ve always loved since childhood!
What I enjoy most about being an author is hearing from readers. Knowing that my stories resonate with you brings me incredible joy, so please feel free to leave a comment whenever you’d like. I’d love to hear from you!
Beyond writing, I’ve built an academic and professional background around language. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Hong Kong, a Master’s degree in Writing from the University of Warwick, and the Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) from Cambridge University. I’ve also been teaching English to primary and secondary school students at various levels across countries.
I’m multilingual, fluent in English, German, and Chinese, and I speak some Japanese. These perspectives often find their way into my stories.
If you enjoy slice of life, school life, and romance, you’ll likely find something familiar yet heartfelt in my novels. Thank you for stopping by, and I hope my stories can bring you the same comfort and nostalgia that inspired me to write them!
